Locations in the World of Melisende DulacThe events of the Melisende Dulac series take place in fictional Barlow County. Though imaginary, it is inspired by the landscape of Oregon east of the Cascades, with high desert, range and farmland, hard rock mines, river valleys, and even its own dormant volcano.
